Wu Shan was born in Hangzhou, 1960, graduated from Zhejiang Academy ofArt (Now as China Academy of Art) in 1982, after that graduated from Art Institute of Chicago in 1986. He is currently a professor at the Sino-German Art Graduate School of China Academy of Art. His international academic background and artistic resume, concise in his picture language which complex the rationally between emotionally and gained the balance. The integration of traditional Chinese materials with contemporary deep thoughts made him one of the pioneers of Chinese contemporary abstract.
