Caro Jost
Graduated from Literature and Law University and Academy of Fine Arts, Munich, Caro Jost lives and works in Munich currently. As everyone has a favorite artist, it is Caro Jost, an artist who came to Munich, Germany, that has been working on the theme of abstract expressionism in her camp and showed her love in works. Her work is about time, space and events. Another well-known series, Streetprints, visiting for more than 70 locations around the world and imprints the traces collected from streets on canvas. Works have been exhibited at MoMA, New York, Chelsea Art Museum, NYC, and the Guggenheim Collection in Venice, among others, and won MoMA Library collection (The archives of MoMA, NY) 、Chelsea Art Museum (NY) 、Museum of the City of Munich Permanent collection of international art institutions.
Caro Jost explores the stories of past artists from the art history, moving their most primitive origins and relatives to the original space and time field. Inputting material, transformation, new coding, and outputting new form directly, she pays tribute to the outstanding artistic achievements, mixes spirit into the artworks and expresses the world view oneself has found. Each piece of work is like an undissolved copy. Jost reifies time, trace and movement, yet brings a love, existing in the continuous space and time of aesthetic object.
