Christiane Grimm
Graduated from Division of Architecture, Universität Stuttgart, Christiane Grimm’s work starts from architectural points, through combining geometry and colors of layers, presenting changeable light and shadows in one space interacted with audience. Her artworks are collected permanently by Heidelberg City Government, Deutsche Bank, and Das Kleine Museum..., and has numerous private collectors.
Using the ambiguity of the overlap graph, Grimm transfers the objective composition to the subjective interpretation and conveys the gradient aesthetic of geometric expansion. Paintings on metal, glass or paper in the past, with two-dimensional color and structure organizing the picture. Because the saturation of oil color luster and the physical reflection characteristics of the carrier, they reflect the depth of space and the vivid color combination brings out the pulse of the work.
Her recent focus is more on exploring the three-dimensional level, overlapping monochrome or colorless plexiglass, dividing the space while blurring the absolute partition between colors, adding dynamic elements for static works and associating connection between the viewer and the work.
