Lin Yi
Lin Yi graduated from the Sculpture Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2014, and graduated from the Fiber Art Department of the School of Sculpture and Public Art of China Academy of Art in 2019. She currently lives and works in Hangzhou. Lin Yi's creations involve painting, video, multimedia installations, live art, interactive public art and others. For Lin Yi, art is all about creating a new perception. This perception is a kind of "chaos”: it may be illogical, irrational, non-experiential. She pays attention to contingency and sociality, expanding from the life of the self to the relationship between ego and society, using daily issues, information, and materials as the medium, emphasizing flexibility, behavior, events, and subtle issues, and exploring space and contradictions existed in family and society within the boundary between accident and necessity. Her works have been collected by Shandong Art Museum, The E.Land Group in Korea and other institutions.
