Fan Bo

Fan Bo was born in Tianjin in 1966. He is a famous artist, the deputy dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. In the early 1990s, Fan Bo, along with artists such as Liu Xiaodong, Fang Lijun, Yue Minjun, and Yu Hong, were called "new generation of artists". Fan Bo applies multi-media in his works, and perception is the main thread of his expression. He uses various themes, media and texts to seek the replacement of people's inner world and different social roles. He is also fond of artifacts in traditional Chinese culture, and has extensively studied relics such as stone carvings, pottery figurines, jade, porcelain, etc., in order to absorb nutrients from traditional Chinese culture.


Fan Bo's works have been exhibited in many important art institutions such as the Chazhen Art Museum in Wisconsin, the Saragon Museum in France, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Italy, the Bulgarian National Gallery, the Allett Art Museum in Sweden, the Angrian Art Museum in Wales, Austria, and the Art in Bonn, Germany The Foundation, the Michel Palace in Venice, Italy, the Debrecen Center for Modern Art in Hungary, the Turkish Palace of the Repin Academy of Fine Arts in Russia, the National Art Museum of Taiwan, the National Art Museum of China, the Shanghai Art Museum and many other well-known art venues. His works are collected by lots of remarkable institutions and private collectors.
