Yang Luzi
Yang Luzi, born in Hangzhou in 1987, is now studying and working in the United States. She graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in comparative literature and later on graduated from the California Institute of the Arts with a master's degree in film creation art in 2016. Yang Luzi's video practice starts from her personal experience and memory mostly, and she integrates scenes with special significance to herself into the historical context, which presents a sense of overlapping geographical and psychological landscapes. She participated in the group exhibition "The Emergence of Resistance" and was shortlisted for the 5th "Huayu Youth Award" in 2017. In 2018, UCCA Ullens Center for Contemporary Art held a solo exhibition "New Trend: Yang Luzi" for her, exhibiting several important video works.
